Extinct Frog Makes a Come-Back
30-years ago a type of frog went extinct. This certain type gave birth through it's mouth. Recently in Australia, researchers found a way to bring back this species! This frog is called a Platypus frog and they swallow their eggs and let the babies grow in their stomach until they give birth, through their mouth. Scientists and researchers at the University of Newcastle in Australia worked long and hard on the "Lazarus Project." This project included getting cell nuclei from tissues that had been sitting in a freezer for many years. They took the frozen nuclei and put in into a great barred frog's system. It only worked for a few days at a time but they got enough of the information that they were trying to find.
